Crown of King Tranix is a Magic, Lore head-slot item dropped by King Tranix in Solusek's Eye. The crown is one of the Classic era's defining all-class headpieces, anchored by AC 13, +15 CHA, +20 Magic Resist, and a worn Serpent Sight effect that grants ultravision while equipped.

The CHA contribution makes the crown a particular favorite for Bards, Enchanters, and any class that interacts with merchant pricing or charm checks. The Magic Resist anchor is meaningful through Velious-era encounters, and the all-class slot eligibility means the item enters every group's loot rotation.

Why it matters

A worn ultravision effect removes the need to memorize a sight buff or stack potions for night-time outdoor play, which is the kind of quiet utility that adds up over a long session. The CHA stat anchors the slot for any class that benefits from it, and the Magic Resist contribution gives the slot a defensive value that head pieces in this tier rarely provide.

For tanks, the AC 13 is competitive into Kunark-era group play. For casters, the +20 Magic Resist is the headline — caster head slots are usually starved for resists, and Tranix's Crown fills the gap with one item. The all-class status means there is no class for which the crown is wasted.

At-a-glance highlights

The Last Camp any-race-class note

The crown is fully class-agnostic (All) and race-agnostic, so the open race / class system does not change eligibility. Where The Last Camp matters is breadth: the pool of characters who benefit from worn Serpent Sight on a CHA / MR head piece is wider than it was on canonical EverQuest, since combinations like Iksar Cleric or Halfling Shadow Knight now exist and all benefit from the same stat profile.

The King Tranix encounter is open to any group capable of clearing the Solusek's Eye approach — no race or class gating applies.
