THE LAST CAMP

Rogues do not cast spells. The 8 entries on the canonical "spell list" are all instant-cast disciplines — combat windows triggered from the spellbook interface, but functioning as activated skills with cooldowns. The Rogue's actual identity lives in the Skills window: Backstab, Sneak, Hide, Pick Lock, Disarm Trap, and Apply Poison.

This page lists the 8 canonical disciplines available through Planes of Power, plus the core skill kit that defines Rogue play. All discipline data pulled from the live peq database after the P2 class-restriction restoration. Click the Lucy link on any row for full discipline data.

What each discipline does (high level)

  • Resistant — temporary boost to all magical resists.
  • Fearless — immunity to fear for the duration.
  • Counterattack — guaranteed riposte window; punishing for melee adds.
  • Deadeye — improved hit-rate window; pairs with the back-attack alpha.
  • Nimble — high evasion / dodge window; the Rogue's defensive button.
  • Kinesthetics — sustained attack-speed boost.
  • Blinding Speed — burst attack-speed window. Stacks with haste.
  • Duelist — capstone DPS window — extra-attack chance plus crit boost.

Core Rogue skills (skill window, not spellbook)

These are the Rogue's actual identity. They live in the Skills window and tick up with use.

Backstab

Positional — must be behind the target. The Rogue's signature attack and primary DPS source. Requires a piercing weapon equipped in the primary slot. Damage scales with weapon damage, attack rating, and skill level. The /assist → maneuver-to-rear → backstab loop is the Rogue's combat rhythm.

Hide / Sneak

  • Sneak — reduces aggro radius from non-see-invis mobs. Allows movement through hostile zones without pulling everything in line of sight.
  • Hide — invisibility while stationary (or while sneaking, post-AA). Combined with Sneak, the Rogue is the canonical scout — invisible, undetected, mobile.

Pick Lock

Opens locked doors and chests. Skill-gated — high-tier locks (Velious chests, planar doors) require maxed Pick Lock plus thieving tools. The Rogue is the only class with this skill outside of class-specific Bard tricks.

Disarm Trap

Disarms environmental traps before they trigger. Critical in raid zones with mechanical hazards. Like Pick Lock, scales with skill level and can require thieving tools at high tiers.

Apply Poison

Applies a poison from the inventory to a piercing weapon. Poisons add per-hit proc effects (DD, DOT, or debuff) and are consumed on hit. The Rogue is one of two classes (with Shaman) that can apply poison; the Rogue does so without needing a vial.

Sense Heading / Safe Fall / Tracking-adjacent skills

  • Safe Fall — passive damage reduction from falls. Like Monks, Rogues drop from cliffs without dying.
  • Sneak Attack window — many positional bonuses key off Sneak, not just Hide.

See Rogue class page for the full kit and AA priorities.

The Last Camp any-race-class note

The Last Camp allows any race to roll any class. Race choice changes the flavor of a Rogue, not the discipline list — every Rogue gets the same 8 disciplines and the same skill kit.

  • Halfling Rogue — canonical thief. High agility and dexterity scale Hide / Sneak / Pick Lock fast. The Rivervale starting area is built for Rogue training.
  • Wood Elf Rogue — canonical Rogue race. Forest-aligned, Tunare-faithful, high agility.
  • Iksar Rogue — opened on The Last Camp, mechanically standard. Iksar regen makes a corner-case Rogue tank.
  • Half Elf Rogue — canonical, balanced stats.
  • Human Rogue — canonical, no racial bonuses, but the easiest faction footprint.
  • Drakkin / Vah Shir Rogue — non-canonical original options now opened. No mechanical change vs. the standard Rogue.

AA tier (post-65)

Rogue AAs deepen the positional alpha-strike: Improved Backstab Damage, Combat Fury (crit boost), Sneak Attack AAs, Assassinate (chance to instant-kill from stealth at 65+), and the Rogue tank AAs (Combat Stability, Combat Agility). See the Guides AA section for priorities.

Note on "spells"

To be explicit: Rogues do not cast canonical spells. They do not gain mana. The spellbook only stores the 8 disciplines listed above, and the entire offensive and utility kit is skill-based. If a guide refers to a Rogue "casting" something, it means activating a discipline.
