East Karana

East Karana (eastkarana, Eastern Plains of Karana) is the open plain east of the Qeynos Hills and west of High Keep. Centaurs roam the rolling grass, named lions stalk the wooded edges, and the eastern road carries low-to-mid travellers up toward Highpass and beyond. Like its sister Karanas, the zone is a long stretch with no real dungeon — fights are out in the grass.

Camps

• Mucktail gnoll village (SW, ~-2400/-900) — the densest camp in the zone (~68 spawns). The Mucktail named (Mechi, Nra`Brox, Nra`Vren, Hukex, Vexven, Prark, Nre`Loxe, Nre`Glega, Burah, Jekca, Grenix, Tregil, Yahg, Emhu, Olixen, Hibber, Rheg, Beanu, Plur, Klage, Canik) cycle through a shared roster — KOS, solo-aggro now that group-assist contamination has been stripped. Caster Mucktails (Nre`Loxe / Nre`Glega) have their mana restored to canon (325).
• Central plains (~-900 / 0) — a_hill_giant L33, twisted_ajrah_treant L20, an_evil_eye L17 + general trash mix. Hill giants now hit canonical HP (2492) and stat block.
• NE caravan / griffon range (~-1200 / +1200) — griffawn flocks (L13-15) and the a_griffon L34 roam. Restored to Beta Threatening / Griffon factions; no longer KOS-bin.
• SE giant / treant pocket (~-1200 / -2700) — hill giant + treant + undead reaver cluster (L17-33).
• Guard town (~-2700 / +1200..+1500) — Karana Resident merchants (Bradly, Julie, Sorn, Stace, Bryan, Tanrak, Sharna, Iago, Lucetta, Balthazar, Merchant_Silvia, Paulina), the L35 Karana guards, Adrian, Shalena_Roan.
• Tarbul cycle (lion patriarch territory) — a_rogue_lion L11 placeholder cycle, ~40s respawn, 5% chance per cycle for Tarbul_Earthstrider L48.
• Bandit road camps (E-W highway) — a_bandit L9–L12 cohort plus L14 a_brigand / a_highwayman. Aggro=50 (short-leash, camped).

Why it matters

East Karana is the road-east leveling artery for Qeynos-side mid-tier characters. Lions and griffawns give 12-15 XP under the ZEM bonus on a low-end-of-Karana 0.75 modifier, the Mucktail camp anchors a contested-but-rewarding mid-teens loot grind, and the L35 Karana Resident guard town gives Qeynos-friendly travellers a safe pull point. Tarbul_Earthstrider is the only "rare named" cycle in the zone proper — every other camp is shared-roster trash with the named tier sprinkled in.
