Trakanon
The poisoned dragon of Kunark. Sleeping lore figure, flyby menace, and VP Key dragon.
Trakanon is the ancient green dragon of Kunark — once a poisoned scourge of the Sebilisian iksar empire, now sleeping in the depths beneath Old Sebilis. His flyby above Trakanon's Teeth and the Dreadlands is one of the defining set-piece moments of Kunark-era gameplay. The flyby is a scripted aerial path that can incidentally agro through the player's path if the player is unlucky enough to be standing in the wrong spot at the wrong time. He is the lore anchor of the entire Kunark expansion and one of the four VP Key dragons whose drops are required to enter Veeshan's Peak.

Lore
Trakanon is the dragon who broke the Sebilisian iksar empire. Canonical lore names him as the agent of the iksar collapse — a flying poisoned plague-bearer who descended on Sebilis at the height of the empire and rotted the city from within over the course of several mortal generations. The iksar civilization that survived the collapse retreated to Cabilis and the southern continent, and has carried the memory of Trakanon as a wound through their history. The Sarnak Collective in the Lake of Ill Omen is a parallel post-collapse iksar offshoot, with its own grievances against Trakanon and the dragon courts.
He sleeps now in the deepest chamber of Old Sebilis, beneath the ruined city he destroyed, in a permanent torpor broken only by the rare descent of a raid willing to commit to the depth-pull. The flyby in Trakanon's Teeth is a separate phenomenon — a scripted aerial path that runs at long intervals and that the player can witness without engaging, though standing in the path is its own risk. Several player traditions on eqmac-era servers turn the flyby into a community event: gathering at the spawn location to watch the dragon pass overhead at the scheduled hour.
Court and lieutenants
Old Sebilis is held by the post-collapse iksar undead and the lower-lore creatures that took up residence in the abandoned city. The descent through the upper city features the named iksar lich lieutenants, the bug-pulls in the abandoned chambers, and the deeper undead court that has accumulated around Trakanon's chamber over the centuries. None of them are formally Trakanon's worshippers — the dragon predates them and ignores them — but the descent through their territory is the logistical work of the raid, regardless of the formal allegiance.
Encounter
Trakanon is a level 65 single-spawn in the deepest basement chamber of Old Sebilis, accessible only after a multi-hour clear of the upper city. His signature attacks include a poison-themed AE that hits the entire raid on a recurring tick, a hard-hitting melee against the tank, and a green dragon breath that ignores most armor and demands disease-resist preparation throughout. The fight is a tank-and-spank against a dragon model, with the wrinkle that the AE poison forces the cleric line to chain group-cures on rotation while the DPS works the body down.
The depth-pull is the hard part of the night — Old Sebilis is one of the longest dungeon descents in the era, and bringing a 24-person raid through clean is a logistics challenge separate from the actual boss mechanics. The Last Camp tuning may differ — verify before pulling.
Approach
The standard Trakanon approach is a 24-36 player raid assembling in Trakanon's Teeth, descending into Old Sebilis through the standard zone-in, and committing to a multi-hour clear of the upper city before staging at the basement entrance. Disease and poison resists should be stacked on the entire raid, and the cleric line should be running group-cure rotations from the moment the chamber pull opens. A standard kill clocks in at sixty to ninety minutes including the descent and clear, making Trakanon one of the longer raid commitments of the Kunark tier. The basement-pull staging is the most dangerous moment: the chamber-entry has multiple side passages that can spawn pop-up adds during the fight, and the raid leader should have those covered by patrol-watchers before the dragon pull triggers.
