Froglok Tongue Turn-In (Faction)
Repeatable froglok tongue turn-in for Troll/Innothule faction. Classic-era Innothule and Lower Guk grind.
The Froglok Tongue Turn-In is a repeatable faction quest using tongues looted from frogloks in Innothule Swamp and Lower Guk. Hand them in to Troll NPCs in Grobb for shifts on Indigo Brotherhood and other Innoruuk-aligned factions. This is the classic Troll-side hometown faction recovery grind.

How to obtain the item
Froglok tongues drop from frogloks at every tier:
- Newbie tier: Innothule Swamp frogloks for level 5-15 farming. Outer-Innothule frogloks drop common tongues.
- Mid tier: Upper Guk frogloks for level 15-30 farming.
- High tier: Lower Guk frogloks for level 30-50 farming. Named-frog tongues here drop for stronger faction shifts.
Drop rate is high on common tongues — expect one per few kills. Higher-tier zones drop the named-froglok tongues that hand in for larger faction adjustments.
Where to turn in
Hand in to Troll faction NPCs in Grobb, and to outer Innothule Troll-camp NPCs along the Grobb-zone-line side of the swamp. Different NPCs accept different tongue tiers — common tongues to lower-rank Trolls, named-froglok tongues to higher-rank Troll faction-quest NPCs.
Faction implications
Each turn-in raises Indigo Brotherhood and Troll-aligned factions while lowering Froglok faction. Troll faction is the access gate for Grobb merchants, the Troll bank, and safe transit for non-Troll evil-race characters who want to base in the swamp. The reverse direction (a Troll character grinding froglok faction) is rare and not what this quest does.
The shift compounds well because tongues are dense drops in the right zone. Plan on multiple full bag-stacks for meaningful Grobb access movement.
Variations and edge cases
A few notes:
- Tongue tiers. Common froglok tongues from Innothule and Upper Guk shift faction less than the named-froglok tongues from Lower Guk's deeper camps. Save named tongues for separate turn-ins.
- Outer-Innothule turn-in NPCs vs in-Grobb NPCs. The outer NPCs are easier to reach for non-Trolls who aren't yet apprehensive in the city. Once your faction crosses apprehensive, the in-city NPCs accept higher-tier tongues.
- Lower Guk tongue rate is high. A Lower Guk frog camp generates tongues quickly — combine with mid-game leveling.
- Upper Guk vs Lower Guk. Both drop tongues; Lower Guk drops the named-frog variants that turn in for stronger faction shifts.
- Faction window quirks. Indigo Brotherhood may not surface until your first turn-in lands. Check after the first hand-in.
- KOS races approaching Grobb. Wood Elves, High Elves, etc. approach Grobb at deep negative faction. Use the outer-Innothule NPCs for the first batch until safer to enter the city.
The Last Camp any-race-class note
Under The Last Camp's any-race-class doctrine, this is the standard hometown-faction recovery for characters who want to base in Grobb but aren't Trolls — typically Ogre, Iksar, or Dark Elf characters running unusual classes. A Dark Elf Cleric who wants Grobb merchant access can grind tongues until apprehensive. An Iksar Necromancer wanting safe Innothule transit similarly benefits.
For a Troll character playing a non-canonical class (Troll Paladin, Troll Druid), this grind re-asserts hometown faction that an unusual class religion might otherwise weaken.
Tips
- Stockpile tongues in 20-stacks. Common tongues stack — bag full before traveling.
- Save named-froglok tongues separately. Stronger faction shift per item.
- Innothule is dangerous for KOS races. Trolls in outer Innothule will aggro non-Trolls — pull frogloks at the swamp edge or use invis.
- Combine with Lower Guk leveling. The deepest froglok zones are also top-tier mid-game XP spots.
- Check faction window after first turn-in. Confirm the right faction is moving.
- Outer-Innothule turn-in NPCs are easier to reach than the in-Grobb NPCs for any character not yet apprehensive in the city.
- Bind near Innothule. Cuts return-trip time on long farming sessions.
- Lower Guk camps are also iconic mid-game XP — combine farming with leveling for efficiency.
