Sebilis Key
The questline to open Old Sebilis's front door. A Kunark-era rite of passage.
The Sebilis Key questline opens the main front door of Old Sebilis. Without it, the zone is only reachable through the submerged tunnel from Trakanon's Teeth. With it, you walk through the main entrance — faster, safer, and without the swim. The key is persistent (not consumed on use) and is one of the iconic mid-game keys of the Kunark era.

Reward
Sebilis Key is no-drop, lore, and not consumed on use. Once obtained, the character permanently has main-door access to Old Sebilis. The door opens with the key right-clicked or simply by clicking the door while the key is in inventory (depending on EQ-era door wiring; both behaviors have shipped historically — current The Last Camp behavior matches TAKP).
The key has no stats. Its only purpose is bypassing the underwater entry route.
Walkthrough
Step 1 — Enter Sebilis the hard way (one-time)
Before you can finish the key, you have to be inside Sebilis to gather the final component. Travel to Trakanon's Teeth, find the underwater tunnel on the lake bed near the center of the zone, and swim through it. You'll surface inside the lower halls of Old Sebilis.
A water-breathing buff (EnduringBreath, Fish Scales, Levitate-with-EB items) is strongly recommended — drowning in transit is a common rookie mistake.
Step 2 — Collect the Trakanon's Teeth components
Several patrolling and named froglok hunters in Trakanon's Teeth drop key fragments. The named are not raid-tier; a competent group of 50+ characters can clear them. Common targets include:
- Specific froglok hunter names that patrol the lake's edge.
- Patrol named on the rocky paths between the lake and the zone's exits.
Drops are component items required for the key combine. Save every fragment — duplicates are common but combinations are exact.
Step 3 — Collect the Emerald Jungle component
Travel to Emerald Jungle and locate the named jungle frog or specific patrol that drops the jungle-key fragment. Faction with Sarnak factions does not matter for this step; faction with the local jungle frogloks and specific Emerald Jungle named does.
This step is a frequent bottleneck because the spawn cycle is slow and the named is contested by other players running the same chain.
Step 4 — Collect the Sebilis component
Inside Old Sebilis upper halls, kill specific froglok warriors and wizards in the chambers near the front door. The named drop the final key component. The upper halls are pull-friendly with a coordinated group; the deeper chambers are not required for this step.
Step 5 — Combine the key
Return to the designated turn-in NPC in Trakanon's Teeth (canonically a froglok hermit-style figure on the south end). Hand in the components in the correct combination. Receive the Sebilis Key.
Step 6 — Use the door
Travel to the main door of Old Sebilis on the surface side, key in inventory, and open. You now have permanent door access.
Trakanon's Tooth path (alternate / raid)
A separate but related chain involves Trakanon's Tooth, a no-drop fang dropped by Trakanon himself when he is killed in Trakanon's Teeth. Trakanon is a full-raid boss and his tooth has multiple uses across Kunark progression — including some advanced key-related quests and a few class-specific questlines.
The Sebilis Key chain itself does not require Trakanon's Tooth. The Tooth is used in deeper Kunark progression (Trakanon-tier flagging and a few class chains) but not for the front-door access key.
Forbidden Sebilis Tomb (deeper Sebilis)
Past the main Sebilis halls lies the Forbidden Sebilis Tomb sub-area, accessed through internal Sebilis-key doors deeper in the zone. These doors require additional keys, not the front-door Sebilis Key. The Tomb's keys are a separate questline of named drops within Sebilis itself — covered in the Old Sebilis bestiary pages.
Custom race-class adjustments
The Last Camp's any-race-class server doctrine means players bring atypical classes into Sebilis. The key chain itself is class-neutral — anyone can complete it given the components. Faction with the Sebilite frogloks (the Sebilis-internal froglok faction) does not strictly gate the key chain, but rampant faction loss inside Sebilis can make camping the upper halls hostile. A character with deeply negative Sebilite faction will be KOS to most of the upper-hall named and may need to clear with a group rather than negotiate.
Tips
- Bring water breathing. Swimming in is the only entry until the key is done.
- Group up for the upper Sebilis named. Soloing the chamber froglok wizards is rough; groups roll through them.
- Camp the Emerald Jungle named patiently — slow respawn and frequently contested.
- Check faction with the turn-in NPC before handing in components. Frog-faction loss can lock you out.
- Keep duplicate components — losing the wrong fragment to a bad turn-in restarts that step.
- The key is permanent, so the chain is one-and-done per character.
