The Shadow Knight Epic 1.0 quest chain rewards Innoruuk's CurseInnoruuk's Curse2H Slashing·SLOT: PRIMARYDMG 40 DLY 45HP+60MANA+40STR+20DEX+15INT+15SV POIS+5SV MAGIC+15SV DIS+5SV FIRE+10SV COLD+10ProcSoul ConsumptionDamage50Cast Instant · Dur 30sCLASSSKWT5.0MAGICLORENO DROP — a 2-handed slashing weapon with the Soul Consumption lifetap proc that defines SK aggro generation and self-sustain through the Velious-PoP era. The chain runs through three distinct phases: a Corrupted Ghoulbane assembly via Duriek Bloodpool in Paineel, a Heart of the Innocent / Will of Innoruuk sub-chain via Marl Kastane in Kerra Isle, and a final Lhranc kill in City of Mist where all four assembled components are turned in.

The chain has notable raid kills: Cazic Thule in Plane of Fear for Soul Leech, Plane of Sky mobs for Blade of Abrogation, Ashenbone Drake in Plane of Hate for Decrepit Hide, Kurron Ni in The Overthere for the Letter to Duriek, and Mummy of Glohnor in The Hole. The final Lhranc kill in City of Mist is itself a raid encounter (Lhranc despawns trash and hits hard).

For evil-race SKs (Dark Elf, Erudite, Troll, Ogre, Iksar), this is the most lore-faithful chain on the server. Good-race and Gnome SKs on The Last Camp face the same chain but pay the cost up front in Paineel / Heretics faction grinding to even hail Duriek Bloodpool.

Reward

Soul Consumption is a lifetap proc that fires on every successful hit at the L50 proc cap. The 2H swing rate plus haste carries the lifetap into a self-sustain envelope that makes Innoruuk's Curse the canonical solo / off-tank SK weapon for the PoP era.

Chain walkthrough

The chain divides into three phases (Corrupted Ghoulbane, Dark Shroud / Heart of the Innocent, and final assembly) plus a one-step opener.

Part 1 — Letter to Duriek (opener)

  1. Kurron Ni in The Overthere — bring Darkforge Breastplate + Darkforge Greaves + Darkforge Helm + 900 Platinum. Kurron Ni then aggros; kill him → loot Letter to Duriek.

Part 2 — Corrupted Ghoulbane

  1. Slay the Froglok Shin Lord in Upper Guk — loot Ghoulbane.
  2. Slay Cazic Thule in Plane of Fear — loot Soul Leech and Dark Sword of Blood.
  3. Slay Plane of Sky mobs in Plane of Sky — loot Blade of Abrogation.
  4. Slay Rharzar in Rathe Mountains — loot Drake Spine.
  5. Slay an Ashenbone Drake in Plane of Hate — loot Decrepit Hide.
  6. Bring a Platinum Bar to any enchanter for casting Enchant Platinum → receive Enchanted Platinum Bar.
  7. Teydar in Qeynos Aqueducts — give Drake Spine + Decrepit Hide + Enchanted Platinum Bar → receive Decrepit Sheath.
  8. Duriek Bloodpool in Paineel — give Ghoulbane + Soul Leech + Blade of Abrogation + Decrepit Sheath → receive Corrupted Ghoulbane.

Part 3 — Dark Shroud / Heart of the Innocent / Head of the Valiant / Will of Innoruuk

  1. Knarthenne Skurl in Toxxulia Forest — hail, say "what heart of an innocent?" → receive Soulcase.
  2. Marl Kastane in Kerra Isle — hail and step through dialogue → receive Seal of Kastane.
  3. Gerot Kastane in Paineel — give Seal of Kastane → receive Note to Marl.
  4. Marl Kastane (Kerra Isle) — give Note to Marl → dialogue advances toward the cell key delivery.
  5. Caradon in The Hole — give Cell Key → Caradon and Kyrenna attack. Kill both → loot Blood of Kyrenna + Heart of Kyrenna.
  6. Marl Kastane (Kerra Isle) — give Blood of Kyrenna → receive Dark Shroud.
  7. Ghost of Glohnor in The Hole — give Dark Shroud → Mummy of Glohnor spawns.
  8. Slay Mummy of Glohnor (The Hole) — loot Head of Glohnor + Glohnor Wrappings.
  9. Gerot Kastane (Paineel) — give Head of Glohnor → receive Head of the Valiant.
  10. Marl Kastane (Kerra Isle) — give Glohnor Wrappings → receive Will of Innoruuk.
  11. Combine Heart of Kyrenna + Soulcase in an empty container → receive Heart of the Innocent.

Part 4 — Final assembly at Lhranc

  1. Lhranc in City of Mist — bring Corrupted Ghoulbane + Heart of the Innocent + Head of the Valiant + Will of Innoruuk. Engage Lhranc (raid encounter). On his death → receive Innoruuk's CurseInnoruuk's Curse2H Slashing·SLOT: PRIMARYDMG 40 DLY 45HP+60MANA+40STR+20DEX+15INT+15SV POIS+5SV MAGIC+15SV DIS+5SV FIRE+10SV COLD+10ProcSoul ConsumptionDamage50Cast Instant · Dur 30sCLASSSKWT5.0MAGICLORENO DROP.

Custom race-class adjustments

Shadow Knight is canonically restricted to Human, Erudite, Dark Elf, Troll, Ogre, Gnome, and Iksar. The Last Camp opens the class to all races — but the item's race mask is HUM ERU DEF TRL OGR GNM IKS only, so non-canonical SK races on The Last Camp can complete the chain but cannot equip Innoruuk's Curse without a server-side equip override. Confirm with a GM before starting if you are a non-canonical race.

  • Good-race SKs (High Elf, Wood Elf, Halfling, Dwarf, Half Elf, Barbarian): all SK training cities are KOS at start. Heretics (Paineel) faction must be ground to Amiable for the Duriek Bloodpool hand-in. Plan months.
  • Iksar SKs have the smoothest start to the chain — Cabilis Crusaders of Greenmist is friendly at character creation, and the Heretics faction grind from Toxxulia / The Hole kills is the slowest part.
  • Erudite Heretic SKs are the fastest-start path — Paineel is the hometown.
  • See Faction for Custom Combos for the Heretics grind.

Group composition

  • Solo / duo steps: Marl Kastane / Gerot Kastane / Teydar / Knarthenne Skurl hails, Enchant Platinum, all hand-ins at Duriek.
  • Group steps (~5): Froglok Shin Lord in Upper Guk (6-man at 50+), Kurron Ni in The Overthere (6-man at 55+), Rharzar in Rathe Mountains (6-man), Mummy of Glohnor in The Hole (6-man at 60), Caradon / Kyrenna fight in The Hole (6-man with CC).
  • Raid steps (4): Cazic Thule in Plane of Fear (24+), Plane of Sky for Blade of Abrogation (24+), Ashenbone Drake in Plane of Hate (12-18 with focused pulls), Lhranc in City of Mist (12-18 with full pull control).

Tips

  • Cazic Thule and Plane of Sky are the gating raid kills. Schedule both as part of normal guild raids — Soul Leech and Blade of Abrogation drop frequently from those clears.
  • The Hole is brutal for KOS-race SKs. The Caradon / Kyrenna fight and the Mummy of Glohnor are both deep in the zone; plan two separate trips with a corpse-recovery contingency.
  • Lhranc in City of Mist despawns trash and resets on full wipes. Pull cleanly, slow him hard, and bring multiple SK chains so the Innoruuk's Curse handoff happens on the same kill.
  • Soul Consumption proc stacks with all life-leech buffs and the Cleric LoH chain. Pair the Curse with high-haste gear for proc rate maximization.
  • Bank the Darkforge armor pieces before hailing Kurron Ni — he aggros after the hand-in. Confirm raid backup is in zone before the turn-in click.
  • Heretics faction is the silent gate. Hostile-race SKs should grind Toxxulia / Hole kills to Amiable before approaching Duriek. A KOS Duriek means re-grinding from -2000.
  • Three turn-in NPCs at Marl / Gerot / Teydar are all in safe cities (Kerra, Paineel, Qeynos Aqueducts). The Aqueducts are KOS to evil-race SKs — invis through the entrance and stand-still for the Enchant Platinum bar handoff.
