Wurmslayer is the iconic Kunark-era 25-damage / 40-delay one-handed slashing sword for Warriors, Paladins, Rangers, and Shadow Knights — a defining mid-game upgrade for anyone running through the Burning Woods on the way to Sebilis or Karnor's. It carries +5 STR, +5 AC, and +5 Magic Resist on top of a damage-per-delay ratio that keeps it competitive long after most quest weapons have fallen behind.

The drop comes from giants in the Burning Woods, a contested camp that rewards groups capable of handling roaming patrol pulls and the occasional add wave. Despite being non-magical for the proc slot (no on-hit effect), the raw damage and stats made it a perennial bazaar item through the Kunark era.

Why it matters

Wurmslayer's 25/40 ratio is the headline. For a melee class, that ratio combined with +5 STR is worth more than the stat profile of most mid-Kunark quest rewards, and the Magic Resist contribution is meaningful when paired with the era's resist-cap pressure on raids. It is the kind of weapon a Warrior can pick up in their late thirties and still swing comfortably into the Velious tundra zones.

For Paladins and Shadow Knights it is a budget option that doesn't compete with class-specific quest weapons but covers the off-hand or backup slot with a clean upgrade. For Rangers it slots well as a dual-wield off-hand alongside primary weapons that carry procs. The non-No-Drop status means the bazaar typically has a steady supply, which is part of why the weapon held its place in the Kunark loadout for so long.

At-a-glance highlights

The Last Camp any-race-class note

The class restriction (War, Pal, Rng, SK) is canonical and unchanged on The Last Camp — the open race / class system unlocks the class for the race, but the weapon's class list still applies. A Halfling Shadow Knight, an Erudite Warrior, or a Troll Paladin can all equip it on the same terms as a canonical-race character.

For new combinations rolling through Kunark, Wurmslayer is one of the most accessible upgrades in the 35-50 band, since the camp is well-known and the bazaar supply is reliable.
