Innoruuk's Curse
The Shadow Knight Epic 1.0. A 2H slashing scythe with the Soul Consumption proc and a heavy hybrid stat block.
Innoruuk's Curse is the Shadow Knight Epic 1.0 reward — a two-handed slashing scythe forged from the will of Innoruuk himself, granted at the end of the Shadow Knight chain that takes the class through Neriak, Cazic-Thule, the Plane of Hate, and the Sebilisian dread-realms. The blade is the visible mark of an SK who has stood before the Prince of Hate and been recognised as a worthy servant.
In hand, the scythe is one of the highest-damage two-handers an SK can wield in the era, plus a lifetap-style proc that turns long fights into self-sustaining ones.
Stats
- 40 / 45 damage and delay (one of the strongest 2H ratios in the era at the time of release)
- +60 HP, +40 mana
- +20 STR, +15 DEX, +15 INT
- +15 MR, +10 CR, +10 FR, +5 PR, +5 DR
The stat distribution is hybrid — strength and dexterity for the melee swing, intelligence and mana for harm-touch and lifetap rotations, plus 60 HP for raw survivability.
Effect
- Combat proc — Soul Consumption. A lifetap proc that fires on melee hits. The scythe's lifetap is meaningful: an SK swinging the scythe in a long fight regains a noticeable share of the damage they take, which folds cleanly into the class's hate-generation and self-sustain rotations.
The combination of the scythe's swing damage and the proc means an SK with Innoruuk's Curse equipped is the only character at the table both tanking and generating self-heals from melee swings.
How to obtain
The Shadow Knight Epic 1.0 quest, Innoruuk's Curse, runs the SK through Neriak, Innothule Swamp, Lake of Ill Omen, Cazic-Thule, the Plane of Hate, and a final fight against a powerful lich-class encounter that demands a small raid. Several steps require the SK to perform faction work in Neriak and gather corpses from named NPCs across multiple continents.
For the full walkthrough see the Shadow Knight Epic 1.0 page. The Plane of Hate segment is the major raid gate.
Why it matters
Shadow Knights are a tank-caster hybrid: their job is to hold aggro through harm-touch, snare-tag pulls and life-tap recovery, and to swing a real weapon between casts. The Curse delivers on every part of that profile. The 2H damage is high enough that the SK actually tops the damage chart on swings, the proc keeps the SK alive through long fights without constant Cleric attention, and the 60 HP plus 40 mana plus 20 STR is the most balanced stat line on a 2H weapon in the era.
The chain also matters as class recognition. An SK with Innoruuk's Curse in hand has been recognised inside the Cathedral of Hate; the class is no longer just "anti-paladin," but a sworn servant of the Prince of Hate.
The Last Camp any-race-class note
Class-locked at the item level — only Shadow Knights can equip the Curse. The Last Camp's open class system widens the race pool of who can play SK to every race on the server, including races that classic EQ never permitted as Shadow Knights. The chain itself does not adjust; the Curse is class-driven, not race-driven.
