Half Elf
Two worlds, never quite either — human-elf hybrids with the broadest starting city list.
Half Elf starts in Qeynos, Freeport, Kelethin, or Surefall Glade and comes out of Qeynos Hills or Greater Faydark with a clear identity. Their primary deity tradition is Tunare, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife. Canon ties them hardest to Bard, Ranger, Druid, Paladin, Rogue, and Warrior. On The Last Camp, the race keeps that flavor while the class wall comes down.
On The Last Camp
The Last Camp runs the any-race-class doctrine. A Half Elf can roll the full table: War, Cle, Pal, Rng, SK, Dru, Mnk, Brd, Rog, Shm, Nec, Wiz, Mag, Enc, Bst, Ber. The old lockouts mattered on Live; here they are character flavor, not a character creation prison. For this race, the newly rollable set is Cleric, Shadow Knight, Monk, Shaman, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, Enchanter, Beastlord, and Berserker.
Faction still bites. Half Elf characters start in good standing with their chosen home and most neutral human or wood-elf institutions. They start hostile or functionally unwelcome around evil cities, with Freeport choices carrying the usual Freeport faction split. Any-race-class does not launder your face; an enemy race at the wrong gate is still an enemy race.
Plane of Knowledge access changes the long game. At level 1, a Half Elf reaches PoK from whichever city they chose; Qeynos, Freeport, and Faydwer all have direct old-world routes. PoK flattens the map; the home city choice remains faction and flavor
Leveling path
- 1-8: Qeynos Hills — western bats, gnolls, and rabid animals.
- 1-8: Greater Faydark — Faydwer bats, wasps, and orc pawns.
- 8-15: Crushbone Keep — orc belts if the start is Faydwer.
- 15-25: Highpass Hold — western gnolls, orcs, and pass traffic.
AAs after 65
The level cap is 65. After that, advancement moves into Alternate Advancement: class-defining passives, defensive buttons, pet power, crit lines, and travel tools. Pick AAs by job, not vanity; a race choice gives flavor, but AA spend makes the finished character. Start with Bard AA, Ranger AA, Druid AA, Paladin AA.
