Vah Shir
Lion-kin exiled kings, now a moonside nation. Starts in Shar Vahl.
Vah Shir starts in Shar Vahl and comes out of Shadeweaver's Thicket with a clear identity. Their primary deity tradition is tribal spirit traditions, often agnostic in practice. Canon ties them hardest to Beastlord, Bard, Rogue, Warrior, Shaman, and Berserker. On The Last Camp, the race keeps that flavor while the class wall comes down.
On The Last Camp
The Last Camp runs the any-race-class doctrine. A Vah Shir can roll the full table: War, Cle, Pal, Rng, SK, Dru, Mnk, Brd, Rog, Shm, Nec, Wiz, Mag, Enc, Bst, Ber. The old lockouts mattered on Live; here they are character flavor, not a character creation prison. For this race, the newly rollable set is Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow Knight, Druid, Monk, Necromancer, Wizard, Magician, and Enchanter.
Faction still bites. Vah Shir characters start in good standing with Shar Vahl, Vah Shir tribes, and most Luclin-neutral routes. They start hostile or functionally unwelcome around old-world cities that do not know them; assume suspicious guards until proven otherwise. Any-race-class does not launder your face; an enemy race at the wrong gate is still an enemy race.
Plane of Knowledge access changes the long game. At level 1, a Vah Shir reaches PoK through Shadeweaver and the Nexus chain into Plane of Knowledge. Nexus and PoK make Luclin travel painless; Shar Vahl remains the racial anchor
Leveling path
- 1-8: Shadeweavers Thicket — hoppers, insects, and low camps outside Shar Vahl.
- 8-15: Paludal Caverns — the strongest Luclin lowbie XP route.
- 15-22: Hollowshade Moor — tribal-war hunting and open pulls.
- 22-25: Grimling Forest — the grimling ladder toward midgame.
AAs after 65
The level cap is 65. After that, advancement moves into Alternate Advancement: class-defining passives, defensive buttons, pet power, crit lines, and travel tools. Pick AAs by job, not vanity; a race choice gives flavor, but AA spend makes the finished character. Start with Beastlord AA, Bard AA, Rogue AA, Shaman AA.
