Berserker Leveling Guide (1-65)
The Berserker path on The Last Camp — out-of-era class, limited content, melee DPS.
Leveling a Berserker on The Last Camp from 1 to 65.
The Berserker is the Gates of Discord-era 2H melee DPS class. On The Last Camp (locked at PoP-cap), the class exists but with significant caveats: there is no era-correct Berserker Epic 1.0 (the 1.0 epic shipped in GoD with the class), no era-correct GoD-tier camps, and no canonical Berserker AA path past PoP-cap. The class plays as a high-burst melee DPS with rage mechanics that turn damage-taken into burst damage-output.
The Last Camp supports the Berserker class for character variety, but understand the era constraint. Your spell list is short, your discipline rotation is GoD-imported (and partially gated), and your gear pool overlaps Warrior and Monk for most of the leveling curve. Solo viability is poor; group play is straightforward melee DPS. If you want a 2H-axe-wielding rage-DPS character with a Norse Berserker flavor, the class works. If you want a deep build path with full era-content support, pick Warrior or Monk instead.
At a glance

| Hardest tier | All — out-of-era, content gaps |
| Easiest tier | 50+ (Velious gear catches up, raid DPS seat) |
| The Last Camp race options | Canonical: Dwarf, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian, Vah Shir (5 races); The Last Camp unlocks all 16 |
Tier-by-tier
1-10 (Newbie)
- Solo: Newbie yard. Swing a 2H axe at greens.
- Group: Light grouping at 8-10.
- Common race-class start: Canonical Berserker races (Dwarf, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian, Vah Shir) start in racial city. The Last Camp-only combos like Halfling Berserker start in Rivervale — small race, large axe, comedic aesthetic. Iksar Berserker starts in Cabilis; Erudite Berserker in Erudin or Paineel.
- Bind at hometown.
- Buy a 2H axe (canonical Berserker weapon).
- Skill up Throwing for axe-throw pulls.
10-20
- Solo: Crushbone Keep, Befallen, Blackburrow, Innothule Swamp.
- Group: Same zones; Berserker accepted as melee DPS.
- Camps: Crushbone throne, Befallen tier-1, Blackburrow froglok pool.
- Gear: Banded armor full set, fine steel 2H axe, throwing axes for pulls.
- Practice axe-throw pulling in safe zones.
20-35
- Solo: Limited. Estate of Unrest outdoor, Najena entry.
- Group: Befallen, Najena, Sol A, Estate of Unrest, Upper Guk.
- Camps: Befallen book, Sol A entry, UGuk priest.
- Gear: Bronze plate or quested mid-tier. Quested or crafted 2H axe upgrades.
- Group as DPS — single-target rage burst.
35-50
- Solo: No.
- Group: Lower Guk, Mistmoore Castle, Sol B, Karnor's Castle entry.
- Camps: LGuk frenzied area (FBSS), Sol B kobolds, KC torchbearers.
- Gear: FBSS, Fungi if accessible, Wurmslayer (Burning Woods quest), Velious turn-in plate.
- Single-target burst is your role; learn the Frenzy/Cleave disc rotation.
50-65
- Solo: No.
- Group: Karnor's Castle, Old Sebilis, Chardok, Velketor's Labyrinth.
- Raids: Plane of Hate, Plane of Sky, Velious raid mobs as DPS, Plane of Valor, Plane of Fire, Bastion of Thunder at 60+.
- Gear: Velious plate, top-tier 2H axe (Wurmslayer-tier or Velious raid drop), PoP elemental gear at 60+, Time armor.
- No era-correct Epic 1.0 — Berserker 1.0 shipped in GoD. Use Earthshaker or Wurmslayer as your top 2H weapon for the era.
The Last Camp any-race-class race notes
Canonical Berserker races (Dwarf, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian, Vah Shir) all have racial guild support and starter axes. The Last Camp unlocks Berserker for every race. Halfling Berserker is rare — small race, large axe, the visual comedy is part of the appeal. Wood Elf Berserker is exotic — start in Kelethin, grind in Greater Faydark and Crushbone Keep.
Dark Elf Berserker starts in Neriak; Erudite Berserker is the rarest combo — start in Erudin, travel for axe vendor support. Big-race Berserkers (Ogre, Troll, Barbarian) get base STR bonuses that maximize 2H axe damage. Small-race Berserkers trade burst for survivability via tighter hitboxes.
Equipment goals per tier
| Tier | Weapon target | Armor target | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-10 | Wooden 2H axe + throwing axes | Cloth + leather | Bind at home, axe-throw skill |
| 10-20 | Fine steel 2H axe | Banded full set | Crushbone belt |
| 20-40 | Quested 2H axe, Bronze 2H | Bronze full → quested plate | First major gear leap |
| 40-60 | Wurmslayer, Earthshaker (multi-class fallback) | Fungi, Velious turn-in plate | No era-correct Epic |
| 60-65 | PoP elemental 2H, Time-tier axe | Elemental Berserker gear (sparse), Time plate | AAs partial-gated past PoP |
Common mistakes
- Expecting a 1.0 Epic — there isn't one for the era.
- Soloing past 25 — Berserker has no self-heal, no CC, no real solo loop.
- Forgetting axe-throw pulls — it's your only ranged tool.
- Tanking — you're not a tank class, even with rage HP. Let the Warrior tank.
- Skipping the Wurmslayer quest — it's the era-correct Berserker 2H replacement for the missing epic.
- Picking Berserker for content depth — pick it for character variety, not for endgame raid power.
