Beastlord Epic 1.0 — Claws of the Savage Spirit
The Beastlord's Luclin-era epic. Dual-wield primal claws — main hand slows and DoT-procs, off-hand grants haste and ATK.
The Beastlord Epic 1.0 rewards Claws of the Savage Spirit — a dual-wield primal claw set. The main-hand claw carries a slow + DoT proc; the off-hand grants permanent haste and an ATK bonus. The chain spans Shar Vahl, Grimling Forest, six spirit kills across classic Norrath, and the Draz Nurakk fight in Timorous Deep / Fungus Grove.

Canonical chain (TAKP / Al'Kabor)
- Start with Historian Sharar in the Shar Vahl library.
- Talk to Elder Animist Dumul in the Beastlord guild hall.
- Earn a Medal of War through Grimling Forest raid content.
- Defeat six spirits across Norrath, escorted by class-paired scouts:
- Icebound Spirit — Permafrost
- Spirit of Malevolence — Lesser Faydark
- Spirit of Decay — The Feerrott
- Spirit of Sorrow — Swamp of No Hope
- Spirit of Torment — Stonebrunt Mountains
- Spirit of Rage — Emerald Jungle
- Draz Nurakk — initial encounter in Timorous Deep, then the final form in Fungus Grove. The boss is melee-immune to all non-bane weapons, so the raid plan must lean on caster DPS and the bane-tagged Beastlord proto-claws to land melee damage.
- Final combine — completes both claws as the Beastlord's dual-wield set.
Why this chain matters
The Claws of the Savage Spirit are the only dual-wield primal weapons in the Beastlord toolkit during the Al'Kabor / PoP era. The slow proc on the main hand means a Beastlord with epic in-hand functions as an emergency backup slower in groups without a Shaman, and the off-hand's permanent haste replaces the need for a haste belt slot.
Draz Nurakk's bane mechanic is the chain's signature constraint: the raid must bring sufficient caster DPS, and the Beastlord must engage with the proto-claws (a quest-stage item) to land melee. Pure melee raids cannot complete this chain.
Custom race-class note
Beastlord is canonically restricted to Barbarian, Iksar, Ogre, Troll, Vah Shir, and Froglok. On The Last Camp any race can roll one, but the trainers and initial Historian Sharar live in Shar Vahl (Vah Shir city, Luclin) — non-Vah Shir Beastlords face the Shar Vahl faction grind before the chain can start. Iksar / Troll / Ogre have the easiest racial faction approach via Cabilis or the Innoruuk-aligned hub; good-race Beastlords (Halfling / Wood Elf / High Elf as roll-overs) should grind Shar Vahl Quasem turn-ins early.
