THE LAST CAMP

The original EverQuest era predated the wiki-everything internet. Players relied on a constellation of fan-built reference sites — Allakhazam for the database, EQ Atlas for the maps, Casters Realm for the spellbook math, a dozen class-specific forums for the niche stuff. Most are still online. The ones that aren't, the Wayback Machine remembers.

The Last Camp targets the Al'Kabor / TAKP era through Planes of Power, so the references below skew to that window. Anything past PoP (LDoN, Gates of Discord, Omens of War) is either irrelevant or actively misleading for this server — note the era-fit hints under each entry.

Maps & travel

EQ Atlas

Hand-drawn zone maps with bind points, druid/wizard portal landings, named-mob locations, and connecting-zone arrows. Untouched since ~2003 and that's the point — every map is era-locked to Velious-PoP. The single best reference for "where am I and where do I go next."

Era fit: perfect.

Item & spell databases

Allakhazam (everquest.allakhazam.com)

The OG database. Items, NPCs, quests, zones, factions, spells — all cross-linked. Comments on every page from 2001 onward, often containing the actual walkthrough you need.

Era fit: spans all eras. Filter mentally to Classic-PoP for The Last Camp.

Lucy (lucy.allakhazam.com)

Allakhazam's item database scraped directly from client data files. Most useful for The Last Camp: Lucy item IDs are the same IDs the RoF2 client uses, so any link like lucy.allakhazam.com/item/<id> resolves to the same item in-game.

Era fit: spans all eras. The IDs themselves are era-agnostic.

Magelo

Character planner and item-stat optimizer. Still maintained for current EQ but works fine as a "what does this gear add up to" calculator for era-correct gear.

Era fit: pick PoP-era servers in the dropdown.

Quest walkthroughs & wikis

TAKP Wiki (wiki.takproject.net)

The most era-correct reference for The Last Camp. TAKP (The Al'Kabor Project) caps at the same era The Last Camp does — Planes of Power. Quest pages, raid strategies, faction grinds. If a quest exists on The Last Camp, TAKP wiki has the canonical walkthrough.

Era fit: perfect. This is the primary reference.

Project 1999 Wiki (wiki.project1999.com)

P99 emulates Classic through Velious only. Authoritative for those three eras — every Classic quest, every Velious raid. Cross-reference with TAKP wiki for Luclin/PoP additions.

Era fit: Classic, Kunark, Velious only.

Project Quarm (quarm.org)

Era-similar emulator project with its own wiki and forum traditions. Good cross-reference for tuning decisions and era-correctness questions.

Era fit: Classic through PoP.

Tradeskills

EQ Traders Corner (eqtraders.com)

Every recipe ever printed in EverQuest, organized by skill and tier. Active forum still attracts the tradeskill crowd. The "Trivials" calculator works for any era.

Era fit: spans all eras. Filter by expansion in the recipe search.

Class guides — dead sites preserved by the Wayback Machine

The OG class-specific fan sites mostly died as Allakhazam absorbed everything in 2004-2006. The Wayback Machine has solid coverage of the 2002-2004 windows for most of them.

Casters Realm

The reference for caster math — necromancer DoT stacking, wizard nuke crit chains, mage pet tactics. Comment threads on Casters Realm guides are where most of the OG caster knowledge was actually argued through.

Wayback snapshots: 2001-2006.

Monkly Business

The monk class site. FD-pulling routes, mend timing, monk-vs-mob feasibility tables. Still cited in monk discussions decades later.

Wayback snapshots: 2000-2005.

EQVault (IGN)

IGN's EverQuest hub. Class boards, raid recap forums, the "Vault Network" of fan content. Killed when IGN restructured.

Wayback snapshots: 2001-2007.

Druids Grove

Druid class hub. Kiting routes, port mechanics, faction pre-quests for the druid epic.

Wayback snapshots: 2001-2005.

The Steel Warrior

Warrior class site — taunt mechanics, agro tables, tanking strategies. Still live as a forum, though the OG guide pages live in Wayback.

Era fit: spans all eras. Active forum.

Magicianworld

Magician class hub. Pet-management routines, swarm-pet tricks, mod-rod economy.

Wayback snapshots: 2001-2005.

Shadowknight.org

SK forum and guide archive. HT timing, snare-tank pulls, fear-kite math.

Wayback snapshots: 2002-2006.

Graffe's Wizard Compilation

Wizard-specific nuke and porting reference. The "Graffe's calc" was the standard for years.

Wayback snapshots: 2001-2005.

Forum archives

The Safehouse (Rogue)

Rogue class boards. BS/Assassinate mechanics, skill-cap discussions.

The Concert Hall (Bard)

Bard class forum. Mez-pull routes, fading-memories chains, twist tables for every era.

Allakhazam forums

Still live. Class-specific subforums, item discussions. The comments under each Alla item/NPC page are often more useful than the article itself — they're where mechanics got argued out by people actually testing.

A note on era fit

If you find yourself reading a guide that references Plane of Knowledge stones to Cobalt Scar, Ascending Memories, Group Leadership Experience, Lost Dungeons of Norrath, Gates of Discord, Omens of War, or anything past Planes of Power — that content does not exist on The Last Camp. The references above are reliable; just filter mentally for the PoP-cap era when reading.

The single best server-specific reference is still the TAKP Wiki — same era ceiling, same tuning philosophy.
