THE LAST CAMP

Leveling a Beastlord on The Last Camp from 1 to 65.

The Beastlord is the Luclin-era hybrid — half Monk, half Shaman, all warder-bond. You and your warder pet attack together as a dual-DPS unit; you keep the warder slowed-target with your Shaman-derived slow line; you self-heal and buff via Shaman-derived support spells; you melee in H2H or 1H+1H with disciplines and Frenzy. The combo solos better than any pure melee class and groups respectably as DPS-puller.

The class has the strongest sustained pet-DPS in the game. Your warder hits like a 60% Magician pet, but unlike the Mage pet, the warder upgrades happen slowly and naturally with leveling, not via reagent-summon. Beastlord soloing is steady, slow, and survivable — you'll never die to a charm-break or a DoT-tick miscount. Group play is reliable melee DPS plus pet DPS plus emergency slow utility. Bring a willingness to coexist with a warder that occasionally pulls aggro and a love for Stonebrunt Mountains.

At a glance

Field Value
Solo strength Strong (warder + slow + self-heal, no real downtime)
Group demand Medium-high (DPS + slow + pet utility)
Hardest tier 30-40 (lull, gear lag)

The Last Camp race options All 16 (per server doctrine — see race notes below)

Tier-by-tier

1-10 (Newbie)

  • Solo: Newbie yard. Bond warder, send on greens, melee with H2H.
  • Group: Light grouping at 8-10.
  • Common race-class start: Canonical Beastlord races (Iksar, Vah Shir, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian) start in racial city. The Last Camp-only combos like Dark Elf Beastlord start in Neriak; Halfling Beastlord starts in Rivervale; Erudite Beastlord starts in Paineel or Erudin. All work with travel.
  • Bind at hometown.
  • Buy starter H2H gloves or 1H Blunt.
  • Skill up Mend (Monk-derived self-heal) and Slow at low levels.

10-20

  • Solo: Lake of Ill Omen (Iksar), Hollowshade Moor (Vah Shir), Innothule Swamp (Troll), Crushbone Keep.
  • Group: Same zones; Beastlords welcome at this tier.
  • Camps: Outdoor racial newbie zones, Crushbone outer.
  • Gear: Decent H2H or dual-wield 1H, hardened leather → silk. Stat focus jewelry.
  • Slow at 19 — first real group utility (lower-tier than Shaman slow).
  • Practice warder positioning and recall.

20-30

30-40

  • Solo: Sol B (water-pet equivalent via warder), Upper Guk, Lake of Ill Omen deep.
  • Group: Sol B, Lower Guk entry, Mistmoore, Upper Guk.
  • Camps: LGuk frenzied area (FBSS), Sol B kobolds, UGuk priest.
  • Gear: FBSS, Fungi if accessible, H2H upgrades, stat jewelry.
  • This is the lull tier — gear lags, warder upgrades pace slow.

40-50

50-60

60-65 (PoP cap)

The Last Camp any-race-class race notes

Canonical Beastlord races (Iksar, Vah Shir, Troll, Ogre, Barbarian) all worship spirit-aligned gods and have racial warder types — Iksar warder is a sarnak-cat, Vah Shir is a tiger, Troll is a swamp-lizard, Ogre is a pack-hound, Barbarian is a wolf. The Last Camp unlocks Beastlord for every race, and the warder appearance is determined by your race — Halfling Beastlord gets a small fey-cat warder, Erudite gets a spectral panther, etc.

Dark Elf Beastlord worships Innoruuk and starts in Neriak. Halfling Beastlord starts in Rivervale — small character, small warder, charming aesthetic. Wood Elf Beastlord in Kelethin — Tunare-aligned, no faction friction. All races viable; the racial warder appearance is the main aesthetic differentiator. Stat distribution favors STR/STA-heavy races (Ogre, Troll, Barbarian) for higher base damage.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting to recast warder buffs — your warder dies fast without them.
  • Slowing summoning mobs — fizzle, waste mana.
  • Tanking — Beastlord avoidance is fine, AC is silk-tier. Let the warder tank.
  • Skipping Stonebrunt Mountains for the 40-50 tier — it's tailor-made for Beastlords.
  • Ignoring Slow utility in groups — even mid-tier slow is worth landing.
  • Forgetting to feed warder — class mechanic exists, keep meat in inventory.
