Glowing Heart Stone

Glowing Heart Stone is a Lore, No Drop light source that occupies the Range equipment slot. It is dropped most reliably by Sir Nandruar in South Karana and by glowing muck diggers in Paludal Caverns. The stone pulls double duty as a small permanent illumination source and as the Range equip itself, freeing the slot from a thrown weapon for classes that don't realistically throw.

The -5 Magic Resist and -5 Disease Resist on the item are the trade-off for the always-on light: the stone is a working torch you do not have to re-fuel, but it nudges your resists down while equipped.

Why it matters

For Bards, Rogues, and Beastlords moving through low-light zones (Karanas at night, Misty Thicket, Innothule, Lavastorm rim, the Velious tundras), a Lore light source in the Range equipment position is the cleanest solution to the dark-zone problem. The stone displaces a melee thrown weapon that the class wouldn't use anyway, and as a Lore drop it can't be hoarded — one per character, no bazaar stacking.

For Warriors and Shamans the same logic applies in any dungeon where the party doesn't have a permanent caster light up. The stone is a budget alternative to higher-tier light source items and remains relevant on The Last Camp for anyone leveling through the Karanas and Paludal Caverns where the ambient light is genuinely too dark to fight comfortably without a held source.

The Last Camp any-race-class note

Class restriction (War, Brd, Rog, Shm, Bst) is unchanged on The Last Camp — the open race / class system unlocks the class for any race, but the item's class list is canonical and remains as listed. A Halfling Warrior, an Ogre Shaman, or a Vah Shir Bard can all equip it without modification.

For new combinations, the stone is one of the cheapest Lore light source items to chase, since Sir Nandruar's drop rate is high and South Karana sees enough roaming traffic that the camp rarely needs more than a single fight to clear.
