Halas

Halas is the Barbarian capital — a single rugged longhouse city carved into the ice at the far north end of Everfrost Peaks. It is the starting home of the Northmen: Shaman, Rogue, Warrior, and Beastlord train here, the mead flows in the tavern, and the city itself is held by the clans of the Wolves of the North. Small, honest, and cold — every Barbarian's first steps are taken between these longhouses before the climb out into the frozen peaks.

The city

Halas is one self-contained longhouse settlement rather than a sprawl of districts — the guilds, the tavern, the bank, and the merchant stalls all sit within the same ring of stone and timber:

• The Shaman hall — the Shamen of Justice, the city's largest single presence. Barbarian shaman train here under Lakgara the Righteous.
• The clan hall — the Wolves of the North, the warrior and clan faction that holds the city. The warrior guildmaster Lysbith McNaff and the McMarrin / McPherson / O`Danos clansmen are the city's fighting line, and the Beastlord trainer Hoyce MacTaegan keeps his pen nearby.
• The rogue den — the Rogues of the White Rose (the Felligan family and Elona McMahon) work the shadows of the longhouse.
• The tavern & stalls — the Merchants of Halas run the bank, the general and supply stalls, and the mead hall; a League of Antonican Bards singer (Marton Stringsinger) plays for coin.
• The Plane of Knowledge stone stands near the tavern, and a Priest of Discord keeps the city's honor-feud rite (restored to its canonical placement in the 2026-05-26 audit).

The newbie hunting itself is mostly outside the walls in Everfrost — within Halas the population is guild trainers, guards, merchants, and the city's sled dogs.

Named NPCs

Halas's "named" are its guildmasters, clan guards, and merchants — civic NPCs on the city's standard ~20-minute respawn (TAKP-canonical). The guildmasters and clan guards are the high-level backbone of the city watch.

Halas is a lawful Barbarian city — standing is governed by the clan and guild orders:

• Merchants of Halas — the tavern, bank, and supply stalls; the broadest civic faction.
• Wolves of the North — the warrior clans that hold the city (the McMarrins, McPherson, O`Danos) and the city's sled dogs. The clan guard line.
• Shamen of Justice — the Barbarian shaman guild.
• Rogues of the White Rose — the rogue guild.
• League of Antonican Bards — the city's bards.

Killing the city's guildmasters, guards, and merchants damages standing with their orders; the safe grind is out in Everfrost Peaks. (The 2026-05-26 audit corrected a faction bleed that had placed much of the clan and shaman line on out-of-zone factions; standing now resolves to the canonical Halas orders.)

Loot highlights

• Robe of Discord and Staff of Discord — from the Priest of Discord (TAKP-canonical, 100% drop).
• Otherwise Halas is a city hub: vendor-tier weapons (Fine Steel) and stall goods, not a loot zone.
