Silver Chitin Hand Wraps
Classic All-class haste hand-wrap with broad resists, popular pre-Velious twink piece.
Drops from
Silver Chitin Hand Wraps are a classic-era All-class glove slot armor piece carrying a sizable percent-haste worn effect, balanced stats, and a flat resist line across all five elements. Because the wraps stack on every class and race, they were a default best-in-slot for hands during early- to mid-game progression, often passed between alts as guild loot or twinked onto new characters. They predate the more focused Velious caster and melee glove tiers but stay relevant for fresh 50s on The Last Camp before raid options open up.
Stats
AC 10. STR +3, AGI +3, DEX +3. Poison Resist +3, Magic Resist +3, Cold Resist +3, Fire Resist +3, Disease Resist +3. Haste 22%. Weight 1.0. Lore Item, Magic Item.
Effect
Worn 22% haste. The bonus applies to melee swing speed only and does not stack with other haste items in the same slot category, so a player swapping to a higher-tier haste glove later loses the wrap benefit cleanly.
The haste category itself is the standard worn-haste bucket, which means the wraps will be replaced by — but not stack with — later raid gloves carrying higher haste percentages. Players treating the wraps as a long-term piece should plan for the replacement slot in their gearing path.
How to obtain
The wraps drop from a small set of named-adjacent skeletons and goblin-kin scattered across Feerrott, Velketor's Labyrinth, and a handful of cave camps. None of the drops are anchored to a high-profile raid mob; the item's reputation comes from its accessibility relative to its power band, since a small group can clear the camps in an hour or two with the right level range.
The Last Camp preserves the era-correct multi-camp drop pattern. The Feerrott skeleton remains the most casual pull because the zone is contested less than its Kunark and Velious counterparts, while the Velketor named offers a more consistent rate for groups already farming the zone for spell drops or Coldain rings flagging. The Underquarry stonecutter and Nightmoon cave guard sources fill out the drop table for players in those alternate camps.
The wraps are not No Drop, so they appear on the bazaar regularly once a server matures. Pricing is set by demand from new 50s and twinks rather than by raid scarcity, which keeps the entry cost approachable for players who would rather buy than camp.
Why it matters
Percent-haste in the hands slot is one of the cheapest-to-acquire melee throughput multipliers in the classic game, which is why these wraps remain on shopping lists long after a character outgrows their stat line. For melee classes, the haste delta carries through to weapon proc rates, parry timing, and aggro generation, so the wraps quietly do more work than the AC value suggests. The all-stat resist line also gives a small but real cushion against zone-wide elemental AoE damage in PoP-tier content.
For hybrid and caster classes that occasionally meleed, the resist spread doubled as a budget defensive piece in zones with elemental AoE damage. That dual role is why even pure casters routinely kept a pair in the bank into Velious, and why the wraps remain a default twink piece on classic-emulator servers like The Last Camp.
The Last Camp any-race-class note
The Last Camp allows any-race-class combinations, but item restrictions remain canonical, so the wraps' All-class tag means every combination on the server can equip them without exception.
There is no race or class gate to navigate when twinking or passing the item between alts. The wraps are a common starter haste piece on The Last Camp for combinations that historically had limited gear access in original EverQuest, since the haste percentage and the resist spread both scale evenly across every class build.
