Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth is the Earth-pet member of the Magician elemental mastery staff trio, completing the loadout alongside the Fire and Water staves. It pairs the standard Reclaim Energy clicky with the Servant of Earth focus, which boosts the level, hit points, and damage of summoned Earth pets while the staff is equipped.

Earth pets are the Magician's classic root-and-tank choice, so the focus tends to be the most utility-relevant of the three for Magicians who play primary or secondary tank in groups.

Stats

Damage 15, Delay 30. Weight 5.0. Lore Item, Magic Item, No Drop. Click: Reclaim Energy (any slot, instant cast). Focus: Servant of Earth (passive while equipped).

Effect

Servant of Earth raises the level, hit points, and damage of the Magician's summoned Earth pet while the staff is equipped. Earth pets root on melee hit and have the highest base hit points of the four elemental schools, so the focus extends an already-strong pet into a viable budget tank in many group situations.

Reclaim Energy on the same staff is the canonical mana-refund clicky that completes the staff's role as the Magician's everyday primary.

How to obtain

The staff drops from Nest drakes, the named-tier dragon trash inside Veeshan's Peak and the surrounding Skyfire content cluster. The Nest is a deep Velious-era dragon zone gated behind a long pre-flag chain, and pulls inside are highly punishing for poorly geared groups, so reaching the camp typically requires a guild-scale presence rather than a casual group. The drop rate of approximately thirty-five percent is generous compared to the Fire and Water staves, which reflects the difficulty of reaching the camp in the first place.

The Last Camp preserves the canonical Nest drake placements and drop tables, so the staff is on the same loot path it was on classic. Because the item is No Drop, the Magician must be in the raid for the kill and roll on the loot directly. Most guilds put the Earth staff onto a standard Veeshan's Peak loot rotation alongside other class-specific drops from the same trash, so it is rare for a Magician to remain stafless after several full clears.

Why it matters

Servant of Earth makes the Magician's most-used pet noticeably stronger, which compounds for Magicians who lean on the Earth pet as a root-tank to stabilize multi-mob pulls or to cover a missing tank in a group. Combined with the matching Fire and Water staves, the trio lets a Magician hot-swap to the optimal element for any zone without losing pet quality.

Owning the Earth staff also signals progression into Velious dragon content, which on classic-era servers carried real weight in pickup raid invitations and guild recruitment. The Earth staff often becomes a Magician's default carry primary for general group play, with the Fire and Water staves swapped in only when the encounter favors those elements.

The Last Camp any-race-class note

The staff is Magician-only by canonical restriction. On The Last Camp any race rolled into Magician can equip it without further race-based gating.

The No Drop tag still applies, so each Magician must obtain a personal copy from a Nest drake kill. For Magicians on uncommon race-class combinations, the Earth staff is often the most achievable of the three because of the higher drop rate, even though the camp itself is the most logistically demanding.
