Stonebrunt Mountains is the outdoor mountain zone of Odus, opened as a Luclin-era expansion zone alongside The Warrens and the rest of the Odus continent's later content. The zone is a wide highland of stone trails, alpine clearings, and scattered Kerran outposts — the cat-people who hold the southern half of the continent independent from both Erudin and Paineel. On The Last Camp the era cap holds at PoP, so the mountains are in-era; just remember they shipped with Luclin, not Classic.

The geography is genuinely large. Stonebrunt is one of the bigger outdoor zones in the era, and a character running it without SoW or some equivalent travel buff will spend more time hiking than fighting. The Kerran outpost in the south is the zone's social hub; the yeti caves and roaming named cluster further north and east.

Content

  • Kerran patrols at the outpost — friendly to neutral, hostile to Heretic-aligned characters
  • Mountain wildlife — wolves, mountain lions, low-thirties spread
  • Yeti in the higher passes, level 30 to 40
  • Named mountain spawns — outdoor named with class-flavored drops
  • Kerran outpost with merchants and a bind-friendly safe area
  • Path down to The Warrens at the kobold burrow entry

Why bother

Stonebrunt is the cleanest outdoor XP zone on the Odus side and the natural step-up from low-thirties content elsewhere. The mob spread is wide enough that a group can pick a corner and farm without competing with another party for camps, the named loot table includes mountain-themed gear that holds value into the early forties, and the boat link to Kerra Isle makes the zone the practical hub for any character running the Odus continent.

On The Last Camp the any-race-class doctrine matters here in a specific way. The Kerran outpost is faction-friendly to neutral and good-aligned characters, which makes Stonebrunt one of the few outdoor XP zones a non-evil character can use without a port chain back to Antonica. A Troll Druid or an Ogre Ranger can bind here cleanly — race does not gate the bind point, only the Kerran reaction does, and the Kerran handle most non-Heretic characters without complaint.

Using it well

Watch your travel time. Stonebrunt is large and SoW-friendly; without it, a roundtrip from the outpost to a yeti camp eats real-world minutes. A Druid or Shaman in the group is worth their weight in zone time.

Mind the Kerran faction. A character with low Kerran standing will pull the outpost guards on approach, which is a fight a mid-thirties group does not want to land in. The named mountain spawns rotate on a longer outdoor cycle than dungeon named — plan on rotating between camps rather than holding one spot if you want a steady named yield. For Odus-side bind, the Kerran outpost is the cleanest option in-zone; for evil-aligned characters, fall back to Paineel instead.
