Innothule Swamp is the Classic Antonica swamp wrapping Grobb, the Troll capital. It is a low, muddy, snake-haunted bog with the Troll city at the north end, the path south into The Feerrott, and the dungeon entrance to Upper Guk on the east side. The zone is the home turf for Trolls and Frogloks, and pretty much hostile to everyone else — surface races wander through at their own risk and most quickly learn to swim around the patrols rather than walk into them. The swamp is also the only Classic outdoor zone connecting Grobb, Oggok (via Feerrott), and the Antonica road south to Cazic-Thule and the Lake of Ill Omen chain.

Camps

Innothule is an open bog, not a camp dungeon — most of its population roams. The wildlife mix repeats across the whole swamp rather than splitting into discrete pulls.

  • The open swamp — alligators (bull, fat, and swamp), water moccasins, giant snakes, giant rats, fungus spores, and lesser kobolds wander the bog floor from level 1 into the low teens. Jojongua patrols the water as a roaming filler named.
  • Froglok shallows — froglok foragers, tads, and the froglok population near the Upper Guk entrance on the east side; this is the primary mid-newbie target for Grobb-bound players.
  • Decaying-skeleton rotation — magical undead scattered through the fog, with mini-named (Zimbittle, Spore Guardian, the fungus-man tracker) on short forced timers.
  • Da Bashers — a level-50 Troll elite quartet (Oggrik, Sklama, Smag, Trak) on the Da Bashers war faction, the zone's only genuinely high-level pull.

Named NPCs

NPC Level Respawn Notes
Da Bashers — Oggrik, Sklama, Smag, Trak 50 ~24 min Troll elite, Da Bashers faction
Stragak 45 ~2–3 min rotation named
Lynuga 32 ~12 hours the swamp's standing boss timer
Jojongua 18 ~30 sec roaming water filler
Spore Guardian 10 ~2–3 min fungus guardian (proc list restored to TAKP this audit)
Zimbittle 9 ~2–3 min

A line of low-level mini-named (a giant water moccasin, a fungus-man tracker, Forager Grikk) rotates on short forced timers through the wildlife groups. Full creature data is in the Innothule bestiary.

A TAKP-canonical audit this pass corrected several faction-wiring errors: swamp alligators that had drifted onto a generic kill-on-sight faction were returned to the Alligator and newbie-monster factions, a froglok fisherman keyed to a wrong-zone Kithicor faction was put back on Frogloks of Guk, a bard-tier named on a synthetic placeholder faction was returned to the League of Antonican Bards, and the human dock-NPC cluster's standings were realigned to their canonical Karana Residents, Emerald Warriors, Storm Guard, and Guards of Qeynos values.

Why bother

Innothule is the Troll start in the same way Greater Faydark is the Wood Elf one — and on The Last Camp, it is the start for a much wider list than the original launch supported. The any-race / any-class rule means an Iksar Necromancer, a Troll Wizard, an Ogre Cleric, or even a Halfling Shadow Knight can begin here cleanly, with Grobb's bind, bank, and merchant loop right behind them. Frogloks carry a level 5 – 15 newbie cleanly through the early teens, and the swamp's ambient undead and wildlife fill in the gaps. Faction matters: killing frogloks helps Grobb, killing trolls is suicidal for anyone bound here, and Innoruuk-aligned classes inherit the easiest path through the zone.

The travel value is the second reason. Innothule is the gateway between three Classic dark cities and three of the era's deeper dungeons — Grobb, Oggok via Feerrott, Cazic-Thule via Feerrott, and Upper Guk directly. Anyone running the dark-side leveling path passes through this zone at least once. Lower Guk sits below Upper, and the entrance chain starts here in the swamp.

Using it well

Bind in Grobb if you can claim the city, or at the swamp gate if you cannot — open swamp binds put corpse runs through patrolling crocs and frogloks. The path from Grobb south to Feerrott is the most-used road; sticking to it avoids most of the wildlife traffic. Decaying skeletons cast — pull them with a real plan if your group is light on interrupts. Frogloks at the higher tiers throw poison and disease; bring a cure or accept the DoT chip. The Upper Guk entrance is on the east edge, easy to miss in the swamp fog — note the landmark before you go. The Last Camp's cross-class combinations show up well here because Troll regen carries any class build through the early levels, including caster comps that should not realistically work.

One loot note from this audit: a swamp-predator drop table that had been miswired to a raid-tier list was corrected to era-canonical, so the open-swamp wildlife now drops the low-level hides, gems, and froglok cultural pieces it should — no more freak high-end drops off a newbie-zone alligator.
